Handicapped persons in rural areas cannot afford to come to the city or towns where qualified rehabilitation teams are situated; They neglect their handicap and later develop deformities which are difficult to correct, except by surgical means. People in rural areas are also so poverty stricken that they find it difficult to make ends meet, let alone buying these mobility aids. It is in the backdrop of this the scheme was started. Freedom Trust in association with local NGO's identifies beneficiaries in villages, takes measurements, and distributes mobility aids like artificial limbs or calipers. Several villages have been covered over the years and the trust continues its mission to reach out to as many beneficiaries as possible.
